Our story
Same family, same recipes, same highway
The restaurant opened in 2001 and has been family owned and family run ever since. The recipes are older than the building: 42 years of cooking sit behind the tamales, the chile sauce and the stuffed chicken breast that regulars order by name.
That name is El Michoacano, pechuga relleno stuffed with spinach, bacon and cheese. It takes longer than most plates on the menu, and people order it anyway. The house hot sauce has its own following. So do the homemade tamales, which come out covered in chili three to a plate.
The kitchen cooks with zero MSG. There is a real kids and seniors menu, not a shrunken version of the adult one, for children up to 12 and guests 65 and over. Weekday lunch specials run 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, which is what most of Bullard knows us for. Dinner brings out fajitas, parrillada, chile relleno and the combination plates, and the bar keeps the same hours as the kitchen.
We are one building on US-69, not a chain with a Bullard branch. Everything is cooked here, served here, or boxed up here for the drive home.

Recognized as Business of the Year in 2005 by the Bullard Area Chamber of Commerce.
The people behind it
The original site never named an owner, a chef, or a single member of staff, and we will not invent one. What the record does show is a family-owned restaurant that has held the same corner of US-69 for over two decades, was named Business of the Year by its own chamber of commerce, and is described by its regulars as somewhere the service has never gone bad.
